Abstract

Myocardial Systolic Failure Heart failure is most commonly due to systolic dysfunction where the myocardium fails to contract nor-mally;the left ventricle is usually dilated.

Myocardial Diastolic Failure Heart failure is sometimes due to diastolic ventricular dysfunction, where the myocardium is stiff, of ten because of hypertrophy, and fails to relax normally.

Valvular Disease remains a cmmon cause of heart failure in areas of the world where rheumatic fever is prevalent.Calicific aortic stenosis is also a frequent problem in elderly patients.
